Museo preistorico etnografico “Luigi Pigorini” – Museo d’arte orientale “Giuseppe Tucci”
Il progetto Virtual Collection of Masterpieces (VCM) si propone di rendere accessibile tramite web una selezione di immagini e di informazioni sui “capolavori” conservati nei musei in Asia e in Europa. La collezione digitale così composta è disponibile al pubblico internazionale e fornisce una innovativa serie di attività educative, di intrattenimento e di svago.
I partecipanti al progetto VCM hanno raccolto capolavori della creatività asiatica ed europea allo scopo di presentare immagini accattivanti ed informazioni che permettano di raccontare storie significative. Storie che focalizzano l’attenzione sulle similitudini e sulle differenze tra culture, rafforzandone in questo modo la reciproca comprensione. Storie che stimolano il dialogo tra popoli e illuminano le loro Storie, storie che contribuiscono alla più ampia diffusione della cultura.
Il pubblico virtuale ha la possibilità di interagire con le collezioni creando una propria esposizione ideale, esplorando il proprio mondo di capolavori, creando attività di gruppo, attraverso applicazioni predisposte. Il sito VCM presenta, inoltre, un’ apposita sezione le principali iniziative portate avanti dai Musei, in modo da fornire ad esse la più ampia risonanza internazionale
L’utilizzo principale del VCM è primariamente educativo e istruttivo. Si rivolge al pubblico degli studenti, dei loro insegnanti e degli studiosi in generale ma anche al turismo, alla pubblicità, e a quelle persone che non si sono mai avvicinate al mondo dei musei e delle collezioni, sia in Asia, sia in Europa.
Il grande lancio del sito Web del progetto VCM ha avuto luogo il 13 settembre 2007 presso il Gyeonggi Provincial Museum nella Corea del Sud.
The Virtual Collection of Masterpieces (VCM) is about sharing. Objects that are physically far apart and spread in museum collections all over the Eurasian continent are brought together in the virtual world. Besides the objects database, the VCM also features exhibitions and research projects. Curators of participating museums provide the texts. Its leading partners are the National Museum of Korea and the Museum Volkenkunde (National Museum of Ethnology) of the Netherlands. The Bago Archeological Museum (Myanmar) has recently joined the VCM and became the 100th museum of the network! A milestone reached thanks to the enthusiasm of 57 Asian and 43 European museums. Altogether, our participants have contributed approximately 2000 Asian masterpieces.
Compartir es el espíritu de la Colección Virtual de Obras Maestras (VCM por sus siglas en inglés). Objetos físicamente distantes y dispersos en colecciones de museos en todo el continente Euroasiático se reunen en el mundo virtual. Además de las obras maestras, VCM difunde también exhibiciones y proyectos de investigación gracias al apoyo de los curadores de los museos participantes. Los principales socios son el Museo Nacional de Corea y el Museo Etnográfico Nacional de los Países Bajos.
El Museo Arqueológico de Bago, en Myanmar se ha sumado a VCM y con ello se convierte en el museo número 100 de su red. Este hito se alcanzó gracias al entusiasmo de 57 museos asiáticos y 43 europeos, quienes juntos suman más de 2000 obras de arte asiático.
De Virtuele Collectie van Meesterwerken (VCM) gaat over delen. Objecten die ver van elkaar zijn verspreid en zich nu in museumcollecties over het gehele Euraziatische continent bevinden, zijn nu bijeen gebracht in de virtuele wereld. Naast een database met meesterwerken, bevat de VCM ook exposities en onderzoeksprojecten. Conservatoren van de deelnemende musea hebben de teksten geleverd die de beelden begeleiden. De belangrijkste partners van VCM zijn het Nationaal Museum van Korea en het Museum Volkenkunde in Nederland.
Het Bago Archeologisch Museum (Myanmar) is toegetreden tot de VCM en wordt daarmee het 100ste museum van het netwerk! Deze mijlpaal is bereikt dankzij de enthousiaste inzet van 57 Aziatische en 43 Europese musea. Onze deelnemers hebben gezamenlijk ongeveer 2000 Aziatische meesterwerken geselecteerd.
