Provenance: Mixtec culture (Oaxaca, Mexico). INV No. MPE 4212: Gift of Valerio Zani to the Aldovrandi Museum in Bologna (1665-1667). It then passed into the collections of the Istituto delle Scienze (1742) and the Regia Università di Bologna (1803). Luigi Pigorini obtained it in exchange from the Museum of Antiquities of the Royal University of Bologna in 1878. INV.
