Dating: Late postclassic period (late 15th century - early 16th century)
Material / Technique: Wood, resin, turquoise mosaic tiles, Spondylus princeps, Spondylus calcifer, mother-of-pearl
Collection / Inventory: Museum of Civilizations, Rome. INV. No. MPE 4213
Provenance: Mixtec culture (probably from Southern Puebla or Oaxaca, Mexico). Collection of the Duke of Florence Cosimo I de’ Medici (1553 - 1556). Luigi Pigorini obtained it from the Opificio of Florence in 1880.
